| Abstract: | Стаття присвячена вивченню літературно-художніх антропонімів з роману «Максим Гонтар» Володимира Лиса. З’ясовано, що назви героїв роману є важливим джерелом для дослідження мови, історії, духовної культури нашого народу. Розкрито інформаційне наповнення літературно-художніх антропонімів, визначені функції та роль онімів у творенні образів. Доведено, що назва і образ героя залежать від волі автора, тісно переплетені і доповнюють один одного, містять відповідну інформацію, асоціації, конотації, символи. Доантропонімна семантика, авторська характеристика та увиразнення базових конотацій сприяли розкриттю значень літературнохудожніх антропонімів. |
| Description: | The study of the proper names of heroes requires special attention, and their thorough analysis is one of the most important problems of onomastics. Literary anthroponymy is the result of a subjective authorial creativity. The writer's linguistic skill is directly related to the strategy of well-chosen character names, which not only nominate, but also characterize the denotations; together with other lexical units they reflect the writer's creative thinking, the richness of his language, and the specificity of his style. Our goal is to investigate the literary heroes’ proper names that function in the novel "Maxym Hontar" by the modern Ukrainian writer Volodymyr Lys. Our task is to reveal the informational content of the proper names of the literary heroes, and to determine the role they play in the creation of images. It was found out that the names of the heroes of the novel are an important source for researching the language, history, and spiritual culture of our people. The hidden evaluative information in the semantic structure of the literary heroes’ proper names was detected and revealed, the functions and role of onyms in the creation of images were determined. It was found out that the name and image of the hero depend on the will of the author, they are closely intertwined and complement each other, contain relevant information, associations, connotations, and symbols. Diminutive variants of onyms have an expressive and emotional coloring, they serve as a characteristic of the hero. Attention is drawn to a special type of the literary heroes’ proper names – abstract-onyms. Pre-anthroponymic semantics, the author's characteristics and the expression of basic connotations contributed to the disclosure of the meanings of the literary heroes’ proper names. They are specific markers of the region, and in the works of V. Lys we come across a sample of the author's onymic mastery. The study of the literary heroes’ proper names of the novel "Maxym Hontar" by V. Lys allowed us to come to the conclusion that the anthroponyms characterize the hero according to various features, create a certain emotional tonality, indicate the relationship between the characters, reproduce the Ukrainian flavor, and reflect the author's attitude towards the named character. |
