Лінгвостилістичні особливості політичних промов Б. Джонсона та їх відтворення українською мовою

Abstract

Статтю присвячено дослідженню лінгвостилістичних особливостей політичних промов Бориса Джонсона, що є актуальним через підвищений інтерес суспільства до політичних постатей та їхньої комунікації з широкою аудиторією. Зауважено, що промова є історичним явищем, що бере свій початок з античних часів. Ораторська промова, відіграючи важливу роль в суспільному житті давніх греків і римлян, під впливом культурно-історичних чинників зуміла утвердити тісний зв’язок з політичним життям в середньовічній Європі. З’ясовано, що сучасні вивчення політичного дискурсу детермінували наукові дослідження про уточнення самого поняття, його класифікацію, властивості й застосування. Політична промова як самостійний жанр політичного дискурсу відзначається використанням специфічних мовновиражальних засобів, що вирізняє такий текст з-поміж розмовних чи літературних, і дозволяє впливати на аудиторію й доносити конкретну інформацію. На матеріалі виступів сучасного британського політика Бориса Джонсона (до уваги взято першу промову на посаді прем’єр-міністра “First speech as PM” та прощальну промову на цій посаді “Boris Johnson’s farewell speech”) було описано характерні лінгвостилістичні засоби та визначено специфіку їх перекладу українською мовою. Індивідуальному стилю Бориса Джонсона характерне використання граматичних й стилістичних прийомів, лексичних термінів і зворотів. Зокрема, епітети й повтори додають промові виразності й експресивності, антитези й метафори увиразнюють текст та фокусують на суперечливості думок політика. Завдяки гумору та іронії Борис Джонсон зменшує напругу серед слухачів й підсилює авторську позицію. Під час дослідження описано стратегії перекладу, застосовані для відтворення вихідного тексту українською мовою, що зберігають і передають почуття, емоції, переживання автора оригінального тексту, та відзначено важливість урахування культурного, соціального, політичного контексту цільової аудиторії при перекладі. Підсумовано, що промови британського політичного діяча Бориса Джонсона є складним і багатогранним феноменом, що гідно займає місце в світовому політичному дискурсі.

The article is focused on the study of the linguo-stylistic features of Boris Johnson's political speeches. The relevance of the study is due to the increased public interest in political figures and their communication with a wide audience. It is noted that political speech is a historical phenomenon originating from ancient times. Oratory, playing an important role in the public life of the ancient Greeks and Romans, under the influence of cultural and historical factors, served to establish a close connection with political life in medieval Europe. The paper shows that modern studies of political discourse determine scientific research on the clarification of the concept itself, its classification, characteristics and application. Political speech as an independent genre of political discourse is characterized by the use of specific linguistic means, serving to distinguish the text from colloquial or literary ones, and allows influencing the audience and conveying specific information. On the material of Boris Johnson’s speeches (the first speech as Prime Minister "First speech as PM" and the last speech in this position "Boris Johnson's farewell speech"), the authors describe specificities of linguo-stylistic devices and define the regularities of their translation into Ukrainian. The individual style of Boris Johnson is characterized by the use of grammatical and stylistic devices, specific lexical terms and phrases. In particular, repetitions and epithets make speech more expressive, antitheses and metaphors emphasize the text and focus on the contradictions of the politician's thoughts. Thanks to humor and irony, Boris Johnson reduces the tension among listeners after a long speech and strengthens his position. The study describes the translation strategies used to reproduce the original text in Ukrainian, aimed at preserving the style of speech and conveying the speaker’s feelings, emotions, experience. The importance of taking into account the cultural, social, and political contexts of the target audience during translation is also noted. It is concluded that the speeches of the British politician Boris Johnson are a complex and multifaceted phenomenon that occupies an important place in the world political discourse.
