Метафора як націєтворчий образний засіб у романі Олеся Гончара «Собор» та її російськомовний переклад

Abstract

Дана розвідка присвячена особливостям перекладу російською мовою метафор, виявлених у романі О. Гончара «Собор», через призму особливостей традиції митця, його особистого бачення мовної картини світу. Простежується роль авторської метафори в межах опосередкованої взаємодії між мовою та мовленням, що сприяє створенню особливого контексту з набором окремих рядків із власним значенням. Досліджується статус індивідуально-авторських метафор у мові оригіналу, порівнюється рівень збереження їх образності, варіанти іншої інтерпретації у мові перекладу, З’ясовано, що індивідуально-авторська метафора виконує роль позначення високого образного та асоціативного рівня, що відображає світогляд автора, який є суто особистим, зважаючи на проблеми, що виникають при точному перекладі. За допомогою методу зіставного аналізу визначено системний рівень ненавмисного перенесення метафор іншою мовою з урахуванням їх структурно-семантичної природи. Під час дослідження було підтверджено, що цей троп використовувався в тексті як окрема сутність, яка переносить назву з одного об’єкта на інший, а не як угода про найменування. У роботі простежується, як метафоричні прийоми, застосовані одним автором для конкретного контексту, виявляються домінантними одиницями, які допомагають обіграти різного роду ситуації реальності; розглядається зумовленість попереднього використанням компонентів метафор та їх контекстуальні зв’язки з іншими елементами художньої інтерпретації, їх необмежений асоціативний потенціал. Аналізується, як, розширюючи авторську метафору, перекладач або намагається зберегти образ для вираження і збереження унікальності авторського стилю, у випадках, коли метафора спирається на зображення експресивно-творчого «живого» контексту, або обирає зовсім іншу стратегію і відмовляється від збереження авторського образу. Пояснюються найважливіші способи перекладу індивідуально-авторських метафор з урахуванням модифікації семантики метафоричного виразу шляхом додавання до складу лексичних елементів або їх вилучення та зміни на рівні граматичної (морфологічної чи синтаксичної) зміни. Аналізуються різні способи метафоричного перекладу, розглядаються у мові перекладу різні випадки збереження, додавання чи видалення метафор з урахуванням особливостей загального тексту, де перекладач повинен враховувати образ подій, свідком і учасником яких ймовірно був автор.

This study is devoted to the peculiarities of the Russian translation of metaphors revealed in O. Honchar’s novel «Cathedral» through the prism of the artist’s tradition peculiarities, his personal vision of the linguistic picture of the world. The role of the author’s metaphor within the indirect interaction between language and speech is traced, which contributes to the creation of a special context with a set of individual lines with their own meaning. The status of individual-author metaphors in the original language is investigated, the level of preservation of their imagery or variants of an another interpretation in the target language is compared. It is found that the individual-author metaphor serves as a designation of a high figurative and associative level, reflecting the author’s personal worldview, considering the challenges arisen in accurate translation. The systemic level of unintentional transfer of metaphors into another language, taking into account their structural and semantic nature, is determined using the method of comparative analysis. The study has confirmed that this trope was used in the text as a separate phenomenon that transfers the name from one object to another, but not as a naming convention. The work traces how metaphorical techniques used by an author for a particular context turn out to be dominant units that help to play out various reality situations; it considers the conditionality of the previous use of metaphor components and their contextual connections with other elements of artistic interpretation, their unlimited associative potential. The author analyzes how the translator, by expanding the author’s metaphor, either tries to preserve the image to express as well as the uniqueness of the author’s style, in cases where the metaphor is based on the image of an expressive and creative «live» context, or chooses a completely different strategy and refuses to preserve the author’s image. The most important ways of translating individually-authored metaphors are explained, taking into account the modification of the metaphorical expression semantics by adding or deleting the lexical elements and changing them at the level of grammatical (morphological or syntactic) changes. The article analyzes various methods of metaphorical translation, considers various cases of preserving, adding or deleting metaphors in the target language, considering the peculiarities of the general text, where the translator should take into account the reflection of events that the author was probably a witness of and participant in.
