Складні іменники-англіцизми з процесуальним значенням у мові українських медіа

Abstract

У статті досліджуються складні іменники з процесуальним значенням, запозичені з англійської мови. Останнім часом в українській мові спостерігається вживання великої кількості подібних лексем, особливо це стосується мови засобів масової комунікації. Медіа є основним каналом потрапляння в мову нових запозичень з англійської. У мові засобів масової комунікації відбуваються узуалізація та адаптація нових лексем. Зазначено, що причини запозичення та вживання слів на кшталт хоумскулінг чи сторітелінг замість українських відповідників пов’язані, передусім, з економією мовних засобів та мовною модою, адже вживання англіцизмів робить медіатекст сучасним і авторитетним, тобто престижним. Економія мовних засобів зумовлена тим, що в українській мові таким лексемам англійського походження відповідають словосполучення з двох або навіть більшої кількості слів, що обтяжує медіатекст, збільшує його обсяг, тобто суперечить вимогам лаконічності та стислості, які висуваються до тексту сучасних засобів масової комунікації. На відміну від інших запозичень, доцільність використання яких є спірною, вживання цього різновиду англіцизмів є виправданим. Мета дослідження полягає у аналізі процесів узуалізації та адаптації складних слів на позначення процесу англійського походження. Метою дослідження зумовлений вибір в якості основних методів типологічного аналізу та контент-аналізу. На основі вивчення матеріалів сучасних українських медіа з’ясовано, що складні іменники на позначення процесу, запозичені з англійської мови, проходять у медіатексті три етапи адаптації. На першому етапі лексема подається графікою мови-джерела з поясненням її лексичного значення у тексті; на другому – кириличною абеткою (у транслітерованому або транскрибованому вигляді), але теж з поясненням; на третьому етапі лексеми вживаються у кириличній графіці без пояснення, адже вони вже добре знайомі носіям мови. Проходження лексемою цих трьох етапів адаптації є запорукою включення нової лексеми в загальновживаний лексичний склад літературної мови, тобто узуалізації цієї лексеми.

The paper deals with compound nouns with a procedural meaning borrowed from the English language. Recently, a large number of similar lexemes have been used in the Ukrainian language, especially in the language of mass communication. The media is the main channel for new loanwords from English to enter the language. Usualization and adaptation of new lexemes take place in the language of mass-media. It is noted that the reasons for borrowing and using words like homeschooling or storytelling instead of Ukrainian equivalents are primarily related to the economy of language means and language fashion, because the use of anglicisms makes the media text modern and authoritative, that is, it is considered prestigious. The economy of linguistic means is due to the fact that in the Ukrainian language, such lexemes of English origin correspond to word combinations of two or even more words, which burdens the media text, increases its volume, that is, it contradicts the requirements of brevity, which are put forward to the text of modern mass-media. Unlike other borrowings, the expediency of using which is debatable, the use of this variety of anglicisms is justified. The purpose of the study is to analyze the processes of usualization and adaptation of compound nouns-anglicisms with the meaning of process. The choice of the main methods of typological analysis and content analysis is determined by the purpose. Based on the study of the materials of modern Ukrainian media, it was found that compound nouns used to denote a process, borrowed from the English language, go through three stages of adaptation in the media text. At the first stage, the lexeme is presented in the graphics of the source language with an explanation of its lexical meaning in the text; on the second stage – by the Cyrillic alphabet (in transliterated or transcribed form), but also with an explanation; at the third stage, lexemes are used in Cyrillic script without explanation, because they are already well known to native speakers. Passage of these three stages of adaptation by a lexeme is a guarantee of the inclusion of a new lexeme in the commonly used lexical structure of the literary language, i.e. its usualization.
