Основні напрями дослідження англомовної морської термінології

Abstract

Стаття присвячена висвітленню основних тенденцій у дослідженні англомовної морської термінології. У ході аналізу було виокремлено декілька аспектів аналізу обраної галузевої терміносистеми. Семантичний напрям дослідження дозволяє розглядати значення та використання морських термінів у мовленні, вивчаючи їхні взаємозв’язки та специфіку. Зазначений аспект сприяє точному розумінню мовленнєвих конструкцій у морській галузі. Структурний аналіз досліджує будову морської термінології, включаючи морфологічний, синтаксичний та лексико-семантичний аспекти. Цей напрям важливий для розкриття системи та функціонування термінів у морській галузі. Когнітивний підхід дозволяє вивчити сприйняття та розуміння мовлення про морську справу, а також виявити когнітивні процеси, які відображаються у мовній термінології, що сприяє кращому розумінню утворення та використання термінів у цій галузі. Контекстуальний напрям дослідження зосереджується на використанні морських термінів у специфічних областях морської справи, що допомагає розкрити відтінки використання термінів у реальних ситуаціях та сприяє покращенню комунікації між фахівцями. Міжкультурний аспект дослідження вивчає взаємозв’язки між мовними термінами у різних культурах та мовних спільнотах, що має неабияке значення для розуміння різниць та схожостей у використанні морських термінів у міжнародному спілкуванні. В цілому, дослідження англомовної морської термінології з цих різних напрямів допомагає розширити знання про мовленнєве спілкування у морській галузі, покращити ефективність використання мовних засобів у цій сфері та сприяти міжкультурній взаємодії між фахівцями з різних країн. Перспективу проведеного дослідження вбачаємо в детальному аналізі найбільш перспективного, на наш погляд, напряму, а саме – вивчення англомовної морської термінології в аспекті міжкультурної комунікації та перекладу.

The article is devoted to highlighting the main trends in the study of English maritime terminology. In the course of the analysis, several aspects of the study of the selected branch of terminological system were singled out. The semantic direction of the research allows to consider the meaning and use of marine terms in speech, studying their relationships and specificity. This aspect contributes to the accurate understanding of speech constructions in the maritime industry. Structural analysis examines the structure of maritime terminology, including morphological, syntactic and lexical-semantic aspects. This direction is important for the disclosure of the system and the functioning of terms in the maritime industry. The cognitive approach allows you to study the perception and understanding of maritime speech, as well as to identify cognitive processes that are reflected in linguistic terminology, which contributes to a better understanding of the formation and use of terms in this field. The contextual direction of research focuses on the use of maritime terms in specific areas of maritime affairs, which helps to reveal the nuances of the use of terms in real situations and contributes to the improvement of communication between specialists. The cross-cultural aspect of the study studies the relationships between language terms in different cultures and language communities, which is of great importance for understanding the differences and similarities in the use of maritime terms in international communication. In general, the study of English maritime terminology from these different directions helps to expand knowledge about speech communication in the maritime industry, to improve the effectiveness of the use of linguistic means in this field, and to promote intercultural interaction between specialists from different countries. We see the perspective of the conducted research in a detailed analysis of the most promising, in our opinion, direction, namely, the study of English maritime terminology in the aspect of intercultural communication and translation.
