Вербалізація концепту LANGUAGE в англомовних афоризмах

Abstract

Стаття присвячена висвітленню основних особливостей вербалізації концепту LANGUAGE в англійському мовленні на матеріалі афоризмів, які містять у своєму складі відповідну лексему language. Основним методом дослідження слугував концептуальний аналіз, спрямований на розкриття сутності концепту шляхом аналізу його складових частин, концептуальних ознак, властивостей, відношень і взаємодій з іншими концептами. Застосування контекстуально-інтерпретаційного методу в якості підґрунтя концептуального аналізу дозволило отримати більш повне та глибоке розуміння досліджуваного концепту, а також виявити нові перспективи для дослідження. В ході аналізу було виокремлено асоціативні концептуальні ознаки концепту LANGUAGE, тобто характеристики або властивості, які асоціюються з даним концептом і відображають його сутність або важливі аспекти. Асоціативні концептуальні ознаки можуть бути вербально виражені через слова, вирази або поняття, які допомагають уявити або пояснити сутність концепту в контексті. У афоризмах про мову можна виділити такі асоціативні ознаки концепту LANGUAGE: важливість (багато афоризмів підкреслюють важливість мови як засобу спілкування та розуміння світу), межа (деякі афоризми нагадують про те, що мова визначає межі нашого світу та розуміння), розвиток (афоризми підкреслюють важливість вивчення мови для особистісного розвитку), сила (проаналізовані афоризми вказують на силу та вплив мови на наше мислення та сприйняття дійсності), ефективність (деякі афоризми акцентують увагу на тому, як володіння мовою може покращити ефективність спілкування та взаєморозуміння). Зазначені асоціативні ознаки допомагають утворити повніше уявлення про концепт LANGUAGE через призму різних аспектів та значень, які відображаються в афоризмах. Перспективу дослідження вбачаємо у розгляді особливостей вербалізації концепту LANGUAGE у художньому дискурсі.

The article is devoted to highlighting the main features of the verbalization of the concept LANGUAGE in English speech on the basis of aphorisms that contain the corresponding lexeme language. The main research method was conceptual analysis aimed at revealing the essence of the concept by analyzing its constituent parts, conceptual features, properties, relationships and interactions with other concepts. The use of the contextual-interpretative method as a basis for conceptual analysis made it possible to obtain a more complete and deep understanding of the researched concept, as well as to identify new perspectives for research. During the analysis, associative conceptual features of the concept LANGUAGE were singled out, that is, characteristics or properties that are associated with this concept and reflect its essence or important aspects. Associative conceptual features can be verbally expressed through words, expressions that help to imagine or explain the essence of the concept in context. In aphorisms about language, the following associative features of the concept LANGUAGE can be distinguished: importance (many aphorisms emphasize the importance of language as a means of communication and understanding the world), limit (some aphorisms remind us that language defines the limits of our world and understanding), development (aphorisms emphasize the importance of language learning for personal development), power (analyzed aphorisms indicate the power and influence of language on our thinking and perception of reality), efficiency (some aphorisms focus on how mastering a language can improve the effectiveness of communication and mutual understanding). The specified associative features help to form a more complete picture of the concept LANGUAGE through the prism of various aspects and meanings that are reflected in aphorisms. We see the perspective of the research in considering the features of the verbalization of the concept LANGUAGE in the artistic discourse.
