«Віра, довіра, діалог, щирість»: рецептивний горизонт роману Марка Леві «Усе, що не було сказано»

Abstract

У статті досліджені окремі аспекти поетики роману Марка Леві в призмі метамодернізму як провідної наукової методології ХХІ століття. Зроблено акцент на Метамодерні як історико-культурному та естетичному феномені, а також на окремих наукових концепціях метамодернізму в сучасній гуманітаристиці. Розгортаючи ідею М. Заварзаде про метамодернізм як особливу художню практику, аналізуємо втілення у романі «складності урбанізованого життя в постіндустріальному суспільстві» (М. Заварзаде) і знаходимо шляхи гармонізації особистості у світі, де максимально втілене «відчуття безпорадності людини». Роман М. Леві відтворює емоційно-психологічну готовність до сприймання такого стану, тим паче, що нинішня ситуація втілює кульмінаційний етап цієї безпорадності, адже постіндустріальне суспільство увійшло в епоху постцифрового постглобалізованого. Відбулася кардинальна зміна базових орієнтирів для існування людини, починаючи від найбільш необхідного (відчуття фізичної безпеки), до усіх решти потреб та запитів особистісної самоідентифікації. Розмова про Метамодерн розгортається невипадково, адже модерна самовпевненість та постмодерна розгубленість-іронія (як спільне поняття, що свідчить про взаємозв’язок одного з іншим) цілком вичерпали ресурс для виправдання і самовиправдання, не пропонуючи ціннісних координат чи смислових опор для сучасної людини. У статті показані особливості Метамодерну як настрою сучасної доби, як атмосфери пошуку відповідей на актуальні питання існування людини в умовах незворотно порушеної рівноваги реального світу. Відчуття катастрофічності та загрози дійсності продовжується у літературі, однак із цілком зміненими пріоритетами сприймання та оцінки у співвіднесенні первинної та вторинної реальностей. Головний акцент зроблений на окремих концептах метамодернізму та наративній стратегії їхньої репрезентації у романі «Усе, що не було сказано».

The article examines certain aspects of the poetics of Mark Levy’s novel in the prism of metamodernism as a leading scientific methodology of the twenty-first century. The emphasis is placed on the Metamodern as a historical, cultural and aesthetic phenomenon, as well as on certain scientific concepts of metamodernism in contemporary humanities. Expanding on M. Zavarzadeh’s idea of metamodernism as a specific artistic practice, we analyse the novel’s embodiment of the “complexity of urbanised life in a post-industrial society” (M. Zavarzadeh) and find ways to harmonise the individual in a world where the “feeling of human helplessness” is maximally embodied. M. Levy’s novel reproduces the emotional and psychological readiness to accept such a state, especially since the current situation embodies the culmination of this helplessness, as post-industrial society has entered the post-digital, post-globalised era. There has been a fundamental change in the basic guidelines for human existence, from the most basic (a sense of physical security) to all other needs and demands for personal identity. The discussion of Metamodernity is not accidental, since modern self-confidence and postmodern confusion-irony (as a general concept indicating the interconnection of one with the other) have completely exhausted the resource for justification and self-justification, without offering value coordinates or semantic supports for modern man. The article shows the peculiarities of the Metamodern as a mood of the modern era, as an atmosphere of searching for answers to the urgent questions of human existence in the conditions of irreversibly disturbed balance of the real world. The sense of catastrophic and threatening reality continues in the literature, but with completely changed priorities of perception and evaluation in the correlation of primary and secondary realities. The main emphasis is placed on certain concepts of metamodernism and the narrative strategy of their representation in the novel Everything That Wasn’t Said.
