Способи відтворення прихованих реальних фактів у перекладі з метою збереження авторського задуму

Abstract

У цьому досліджені значна увага приділена розгляду індивідуальних особливостей стилів автора та перекладача. Процес перекладу художнього тексту є багатогранним – складним та захопливим дійством одночасно. Серед сучасних перекладознавців точиться чимало дискусій стосовно межі між авторським «я» та «я» перекладача. У нижченаведеній розвідці розглянуто вибіркові описи та авторські лексичні видозміни із політичного сатиричного роману «Оленіада» І. Роздобудько (2014) та психологічного роману «Тільки нікому про це не кажи» І. Карпи (2022). Дослідження охоплює короткий огляд теоретичного матеріалу та поглядів науковців стосовно питання індивідуальних стилів автора і перекладача, чинників, що впливають на їх формування, а також взаємодії письменника та перекладача як співавтора цільового художнього тексту з метою створення якісного перекладу. Предметом розвідки розглядаються засоби та способи передачі (перекладацькі трансформації) англійською та німецькою мовами авторських образних описів, акронімів та прихованих антропонімів. Об’єктом дослідження виступають уривки та окремі приклади з романів «Оленіада» І. Роздобудько та «Тільки нікому про це не кажи» І. Карпи. Наведений у розвідці ілюстративний матеріал свідчить про багатство мови і професіоналізм авторок, але водночас створює чимало проблем для роботи перекладача, адже постає питання – максимально зберегти форму чи зміст. Якщо для відтворення частини авторських рис є можливим відшукати адекватні варіанти у цільовій мові, то частина засобів образності потребує кардинальних змін. У такому разі на передній план виходить детальний аналіз авторського задуму і прийняття рішення стосовно моментів, які варто змінити. Перспективи подальших досліджень вбачаємо у пошуку найоптимальніших варіантів передачі авторських рис цільовою мовою.

In the following scientific research considerable attention is paid to the individual characteristics of the author’s and translator’s styles. The process of translating a fiction is a multifaceted, complex and fascinating activity. There is a lot of discussion among contemporary translation scholars about the boundary between the author’s “self” and the translator’s “self”. The following article examines selected descriptions and authorial lexical modifications from the political satirical novel “The Oleniada” by I. Rozdobudko (2014) and the psychological novel “Just don’t tell Anyone about it” by I. Karpa (2022). The study covers a brief overview of theoretical material and scholars’ views on the issue of individual styles of the author and translator, factors influencing their formation, as well as the interaction of the writer and translator as co-authors of the target fiction in order to create a high-quality translation. The subject of the research is the means and methods of transferring (translation transformations) of author’s figurative descriptions, acronyms and hidden anthroponyms into English and German. The object of the study is excerpts and individual examples from the novels “The Oleniada” by I. Rozdobudko and “Just don’t tell anyone about it” by I. Karpa. The illustrative material presented in this paper demonstrates the richness of the language and the professionalism of the authors, but at the same time creates many problems for the translator, as the question arises whether to preserve the form or content as much as possible. While it is possible to find adequate variants in the target language to reproduce some of the author’s features, some of the means of imagery require radical changes. In this case, a detailed analysis of the author’s intention and decision-making on the points that should be changed come to the fore. Prospects for further research lie in finding the most optimal ways to convey the author’s features in the target language.
