Напрями та особливості діяльності британських інституцій «м’якого» впливу в Україні (1992–2024)

Abstract

Мета статті полягає в з’ясуванні головних напрямів та особливостей діяльності британських інституцій (організацій) «м’якого» впливу в Україні протягом 1992–2024 рр. Методологія дослідження базується на принципах історизму та неупередженості, а також теоретичних положеннях концепції «м’якої сили» Дж.Ная. Наукова новизна полягає у комплексному висвітленні діяльності британських організацій в Україні крізь призму теорії «soft power». Висновки. Кожна з британських інституцій «м’якого» впливу, які тією чи іншою мірою зв’язані з державними структурами Сполученого Королівства, має свій пріоритетний напрям діяльності в Україні: Українська служба Бі-Бі-Сі – інформаційний, Британська Рада – мовно-освітній, Фонд Ноу Хау – економічний, Вестмінстерська фундація за демократію – політико-правовий, Траст Зігрід Раузінг – гуманітарний (права людини). Головними результатами їхньої діяльності є формування позитивного іміджу Великої Британії, поширення її мови, культури та цінностей. Все це загалом сприяє процесам демократизації та лібералізації України за європейським зразком, формування в ній активних груп громадянського суспільства.

The purpose of the article is to clarify the main directions and features of activities of the British soft influence institutions (organizations) in Ukraine during 1992–2024. The research methodology is based on the principles of historicism and impartiality, as well as on the soft power concept by J.Nye. The scientific novelty lies in the comprehensive coverage of the British organizations’ activities in Ukraine through the prism of the soft power theory. Conclusions. Each of the British soft power institutions, to one degree or another connected with the government structures of the United Kingdom, has its own priority area of activity in Ukraine: BBC Ukrainian Service – informational, British Council – linguistic and educational, Know How Fund – economic, Westminster Foundation for Democracy – political and legal, Sigrid Rausing Trust – humanitarian (human rights). The main results of their activities are the formation of Great Britain’s positive image, the spread of its language, culture and values. All this contributes to the processes of democratization and liberalization in Ukraine along the European model, and the formation of active civil society groups in it.
