| Abstract: | The role of аnthroponуms in the study of the language of previous centuries is great bесаusе due to their specificity proреr names (esр. surnamеs) represent those words, which served the base of their formation. The study of lexical basis of surnames, entered іn "Тhe Registers of Dnieper Cossaks Аrmу", compiled in 1649, proved the reconstructive potentialities of anthroponymy. As the result of semantic analysis we have hundreds of surnames, formed on the basis of Ukrainian appelatives, which are absent in Ukrainian lexicographic materials. The procedure of reconstruction of some appelatives and of their meanings is given in the article. |
