Утвердження сестер Чину св.Василія Великого в Мукачівській греко-католицькій єпархії в першій половині 20-х років ХХ ст.

Abstract

The issue of founding a convent for the Basilian sisters in Subcarpathian Rus’ appeared on the agenda in the fall of 1921. At that point, the negotiations intensified between the monastery of the sisters of the Order of St. Basil the Great (CHSVV) in Stanislav (now Ivano-Frankivsk) and cleric and secular persons in Uzhhorod who adhered to the idea of spreading their activities within the region. The first two nuns arrived from Stanislav to Uzhhorod and the process of founding a monastery started. However, confirmation of the Basilian sisters in Uzhhorod, whose number was increased to five at the beginning of 1922, was faced with considerable difficulties. After all, the conditions for a fully functioning monastery were not adequate at that time. In the summer of 1922, the Basilian sisters moved to Prešov, where they stayed until the fall of 1924. In that period, changes occurred in the leadership of the Mukachevo diocese. In 1924, Bishop Petro Gebei became its new head. At his request, three Basilian nuns returned from Prešov to Uzhhorod in September of the same year. Thus, their ascetic mission in Subcarpathian Rus’ started.

Otázka založenia kláštora pre sestry baziliánky na Podkarpatskej Rusi vznikla v jeseni 1921. Vtedy sa zintenzívnili rokovania medzi kláštorom sestier Rádu svätého Bazila Veľkého (CHSVV) v meste Stanislav (dnes Ivano-Frankivsk) a duchovných a svetských osôb v Užhorode, ktorí chceli šíriť svoje aktivity na území Podkarpatskej Rusi. Zo Stanislavy do Užhorodu prišli prvé dve rehoľné sestry, aby tu založili kláštor. Konfirmácia sestier baziliánov v Užhorode, ktorých počet sa začiatkom v roku 1922 zvýšil na päť, však čelila značným ťažkostiam. Podmienky na plne funkčný kláštor však neboli v tom čase ešte plne vyhovujúce. V lete 1922 sa sestry baziliánky presťahovali do Prešova, kde zotrvali až do jesene 1924. V tomto období nastali zmeny vo vedení Mukačevskej eparchie. V roku 1924 sa jej novým biskupom stal Peter Gebei. Na jeho žiadosť sa tri baziliánky v septembri toho istého roku vrátili z Prešova do Užhorodu. Tak sa začala ich asketická misia na Podkarpatskej Rusi.
