Професор Юрій Ломсадзе – видатний вчений фізик-теоретик, фундатор наукових досліджень Ужгородського університету: до 100-річчя з дня народження

Abstract

У статті розглянуто життєвий шлях та наукову діяльність Юрія Мелітоновича Ломсадзе – видатного вченого фізика-теоретика, педагога, засновника кафедри теоретичної фізики з перших років заснування Ужгородського університету. З іменем Ю. М. Ломсадзе пов’язаний один із найважливіших періодів розвитку і становлення теоретичної фізики на Закарпатті. Видатний фізик-теоретик, яскравий вчений і педагог, фундатор наукових досліджень на фізичному факультеті Ужгородського державного університету, він стає засновником кафедри теоретичної фізики та відділу теорії адронів Інституту теоретичної фізики АН УРСР. Упродовж 25 років наукова і педагогічна робота пов’язана з фізичним факультетом Ужгородського університету та відділу теорії адронів Інституту теоретичної фізики АН України, де Юрій Мелітонович реалізував свій неординарний талант організатора науки, вченого і педагога. Його стиль роботи сприяв створенню надзвичайно продуктивної атмосфери в організованих за його участю творчих осередках, науковий престиж яких і зараз є високим. Саме на його лекціях та практичних заняттях, навчальних та наукових семінарах формувалися наукові біографії багатьох ужгородських фізиків. Науковий доробок вченого складає понад 200 наукових праць в престижних фізичних, математичних, філософських журналах: «Вісник АН Української РСР», «Український математичний журнал», «Український фізичний журнал», «Известия высших учебных заведений. Физика», «Журнал экспериментальной и теоретической физики», «Ядерная физика», «Успехи физических наук», «Доклады АН СССР», «Философские науки», «Вопросы философии», «Nuclear Physics», «JETP» та ін. Ю. М. Ломсадзе – автор першого в історії закарпатської фізики навчального посібника з грифом МВ і ССО СРСР «Теоретико-групповое введение в теорию элементарных частиц». Він був редактором «Наукових записок Ужгородського університету», «Доповідей та повідомлень Ужгородського університету», організатором і першим керівником наукових семінарів. За ініціативою Ю. М. Ломсадзе і його активною участю в Ужгородському університеті з 1958 року регулярно проводилися відомі і популярні Всесоюзні міжвузівські конференції по квантовій теорії поля і теорії елементарних частинок, на яких відбувалося широке обговорення проблем квантової теорії і елементарних частинок з можливістю участі на подібних конференціях молодих фізиків-теоретиків

The article examines the life path and scientific activities of Yurii Melitonovych Lomsadze – an outstanding scientist, theoretical physicist, lecturer, founder of the Department of Theoretical Physics from the first years of the establishment of Uzhhorod University. One of the most important periods of development and formation of theoretical physics in Transcarpathia is associated with the name of Yu. M. Lomsadze. An outstanding theoretical physicist, a bright scientist and teacher, founder of scientific research at the Faculty of Physics of Uzhhorod State University, he became the founder of the Department of Theoretical Physics and the Department of Hadron Theory of the Institute of Theoretical Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR. For 25 years, scientific and pedagogical work has been associated with the Faculty of Physics of Uzhhorod University and the Department of Hadron Theory of the Institute of Theoretical Physics of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, where Yurii Melitonovych realized his extraordinary talent as a science organizer, scholar and teacher. His style of work contributed to the creation of an extremely productive atmosphere in the creative centers organized with his participation, the scientific prestige of which is still high. It was at his lectures and practical classes, educational and scientific seminars that the scientific biographies of many Uzhhorod physicists were formed The scholar’s scientific achievements include over 200 scientific papers in prestigious physical, mathematical, and philosophical journals: “Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR”, “Ukrainian Mathematical Journal”, “Ukrainian Physical Journal”, “Proceedings of Higher Educational Institutions. Physics”, “Journal of Experimental and Theoretical Physics”, “Nuclear Physics”, “Successes of Physical Sciences”, “Reports of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR”, “Philosophical Sciences”, “Questions of Philosophy”, “Nuclear Physics”, “JETP”, etc. Yu. M. Lomsadze is the author of the first textbook in the history of Transcarpathian physics with the seal of Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the USSR “Group-Theoretical Introduction to the Theory of Elementary Particles”. He was the editor of “Scientific Notes of Uzhhorod University”, “Reports and Notifications of Uzhhorod University”, the organizer and first head of scientific seminars. On the initiative of Yu. M. Lomsadze and with his active participation, well-known and popular All-Union Interuniversity Conferences on Quantum Field Theory and Elementary Particle Theory had been held regularly at Uzhhorod University since 1958. At these conferences there was a broad discussion of the problems of quantum theory and elementary particles with the opportunity for young theoretical physicists to participate.
