| Abstract: | У статті аналізується образ жінки в культурі кінця ХІХ та початку ХХ століття. Нове розуміння
жінки з’являється в тогочасній філософській думці та літературі. Жінку оцінюють також як мірило нової етики, надію спасіння світу.

In the article analized image of woman in the culture at the end of the 19th - the beginning of the 20th centuries. The new understanding of woman shows up in the philosophical idea of this epoch. She shows up also in artistic literature. Society estimates her also as a criterion of new ethics and hope of rescue of humanity.
