«Сіль землі» Юзефа Віттліна – «Поза межами болю» Осипа Турянського: аналогії та експресіоністська концептуалізація у творенні персонажів

Abstract

Стаття присвячена вивченню експресіоністських вимірів повісті «Сіль землі» Ю. Віттліна та ліричного роману «Поза межами болю» О. Турянського. Утім, художня типізація характерів персонажів у творах польського та українського письменників передбачає момент «відбору». Передусім мова іде про тематичну подібність творів, зокрема про Першу світову війну. Саме поняття «експресіоністська концептуалізація» хоч і не набуло стійкого термінологічного окреслення, однак із деякою періодичністю з’являється в літературознавчому дискурсі. У нашій інтерпретації «експресіоністські виміри» – це передусім емоційно-експресивна та композиційно-смислова структура тексту, що віддзеркалюється як система рівнянь між авторовим «Я» і «персонажем». Динамічність і експресивність стилю повісті «Сіль землі» Ю. Віттліна та ліричного роману «Поза межами болю» О. Турянського, їхній антиестетизм, що підпорядковується формі змісту як основній художній цінності, анімізація, телеграфічність, спіритуалізм, який проявляється у творах передусім у визнанні атрибутів реальної екзистенції надприродного світу, суб’єктивне інтуїтивне відчуття дійсності, невпинний пошук істини, пацифізм, протест проти сучасної соціальної несправедливості, трагізм, розчарування, відчуженість і водночас віра в «революцію серця», його переміну, «передуховлення волі до життя» й світлі обрії майбутнього – це була та дорога, що привела письменників до художнього втілення основних засад поетики літературно-мистецької течії перших декад ХХ століття, тобто експресіонізму. Уся художня краса ситуації в повісті «Сіль землі» Ю. Віттліна і ліричному романі «Поза межами болю» О. Турянського постає насамперед не у формі, а в змісті, для якого альфою і омегою є експресія. Ця збіжність з’ясовує і те, що авторовий вибуялий суб’єктивізм не втримується у межах промовистого реального факту, взятого з біографічної дійсності, а замикається в колі чисто мистецьких психологічних вражень. Тому на розгорнутих сторінках художніх творів війна дивиться не очима зброї, барикад чи військових маневрів, а внутрішньою драмою людської душі, промовляючи не відлунням пострілів, а осколками болю.

The article is devoted to the study of expressionistic dimensions of stories “The Salt of the Earth” by Jozef Wittlin and lyric novel “Beyond the Limits of Pain” by O. Turyanskyy. However, artistic typology characters in artistic writings in the works of Polish and Ukrainian writers involves “selection”. First of all we are talking about thematic similarity of works, namely World War I. The very term “expressionistic сonceptualization” although it has not acquired consistent terminology, it appears in literary discourse with certain regularity. In our interpretation, “expressionistic dimensions” are, first of all, the emotionally expressive and compositional-semantic structure of the text as a system of equations between the author “I” and “the character”. The dynamics and simplicity stories “The Salt of the Earth” by Jozef Wittlin and lyric novel “Beyond the Limits of Pain” by O. Turyanskyy and their anti‑aesthetic character, which follows the content form as the main artistic value, as well as its maximization, telegraphed, spiritualism represented in the novel first of all through the recognition of the attributes of the supernatural worl’ds real existence, the author’s subjective intuitive perception of reality, continual search for the truth, pacifism, protest against contemporary social injustice, the tragic elements, disappointment, aloofness, and at the same time the belief in “the revolution of the human heart”, its change, “animation of the desire for life” and future’s bright skylines – all of those compiled the road, which led the writers to artistic embodiment of the basic principles of the literary and artistic trend of the XX centuries’ first decades’ poetica, i.e. expressionism. The general artistic beauty of stories “The Salt of the Earth” by Jozef Wittlin and lyric novel “Beyond the Limits of Pain” by O. Turyanskyy situation is based first of all not on the form, but on the content, for which expressionism is the alpha and omega. This coincidence also explains the fact that the author’s turbulent subjectivism cannot limit itself within the boundaries of a real fact taken from a live biographical reality. Instead it locks itself in the circle of purely artistic psychological impressions. As a result, the war on the open pages of the artistic works is described not through weapons, barricades and military maneuvers, but through the inner drama of a human soul, speaking not through the echo of gunfire, but through the splinters of pain.
