Соціальні мережі як інструмент мобілізації протестних рухів в Україні

Abstract

У статті автор аналізує теоретичні та прикладні аспекти функціонування соціальних мереж як одного з елементів сучасної політичної комунікації. Автор розглядає соціальні мережі в рамках політичної комунікації та політичної участі, як інструмент інтернет-мобілізації, який здатний впливати на ключові процеси політичної системи, зокрема протестні рухи. У праці визначено ряд особливостей мобілізації учасників політичного протесту. Визначено особливості політичної участі, зокрема протестної. Визначено фактори, які впливають на участь громадян у політичному протесті в умовах розвитку та поширення соціальних мереж. Автором виокремлено відмінності впливу інтернету на явище політичного протесту відносно до попередніх соціальних рухів. Визначено особливості соціальних мереж як інструменту соціальної мобілізації. На прикладі «Революції гідност» продемонстровано можливості соціальних мереж як технології мобілізації, зокрема як засобу висвітлення та фіксації інформації, комунікації, кооперації, консолідації, координації та вирішення інших практичних задач, пов’язаних із функціонуванням протесту. Автором виділено особливості політичного протесту в умовах демократичних та авторитарних режимів, а також визначено особливості протестних рухів в Україні в умовах «гібридного режиму». Виокремлено функції соціальних мереж: мобілізаційно-координуючу і комунікативну, та встановлено, яким чином даний інструмент виступає засобом консолідації ресурсів. Дане дослідження використовує методологію, яка у своїй основі включає дискурс-аналіз англомовних джерел, оскільки на сьогодні в Україні цей феномен характеризується слабкістю теоретичної та практичної бази дослідження. Також якісна перспектива була спрямована на виявлення можливих взаємозв’язків, пояснення причин, наслідків та опис інтернет-мобілізації протестних рухів в Україні.

The author analyses the theoretical and applied aspects of social media as one of the elements of contemporary political communication. The author examines social media in political communication and political participation as a tool of internet-mobilisation, capable of influencing key processes of the political system, in particular protest movements. The work presents an applied vision of the specifics of mobilisation of political protest participants. The features of political participation, including protest participation, are highlighted. Factors influencing citizens’ participation in political protest in the context of the development and proliferation of social media were identified. The author has highlighted the differences in the influence of the internet on the phenomenon of political protest in relation to previous social movements. Features of social media as a tool for social mobilisation were identified. The case of the “Revolution of Dignity” demonstrates the potential of social media as a mobilisation technology in particular as a means of reporting and recording information, communication, co-operation, consolidation, co-ordination and other practical tasks related to the functioning of protest. The author highlights the specificities of political protest under democratic and authoritarian regimes and identifies the specificities of protest movements in Ukraine under a "hybrid regime". The functions of social media are highlighted: mobilization- coordinating and communicative, and the way this tool acts as a means of resource consolidation is established. This research uses a methodology that includes discourse-analysis of English-language sources, as today in Ukraine this phenomenon is characterized by weak theoretical and practical research base. The qualitative perspective is also aimed at identifying possible interconnections, explaining the causes, consequences and describing the internet mobilisation of protest movements in Ukraine.
