Інавгураційні промови Президентів США Ф. Рузвельта та Д. Байдена: історико-політологічний аналіз

Abstract

У статті здійснено історико-політологічний аналіз інавгураційних промов Президентів США Франкліна Рузвельта у 1941 р. (третя промова) та Джозефа Байдена у 2021 р. Зазначено, що політична промова – особливий вид промов, який відрізняється специфічністю. Для неї характерні такі риси: функціональне різноманіття, монологічність, орієнтація на масового слухача, політична тематика. Інавгураційна промова – різновид політичної промови. Вона супроводжує ритуал вступу нового Президента на посаду. Це звернення до своїх громадян з метою транслювання важливих ідей. У статті підкреслюється, що інавгураційна промова акумулює основні риси політичного курсу нового Президента та має на меті інтеграцію суспільства. Проведено порівняльний аналіз інавгураційних промов 32-го та 46-го Президентів США по таких критеріях, як структура промови, лексичні та стилістичні особливості, ключові слова, основна ідея, коло проблем та питань, які згадує політик, символи. У статті враховано історичні умови вступу обох Президентів на посаду. Підкреслюється, що вони були проголошені в час глибоких геополітичних криз. Виявлено спільні риси промов Ф. Рузвельта та Д. Байдена. Це проголошення демократичних цінностей як найвищих, заклик до захисту демократії та свободи, до рішучих дій, підкреслення важливої історичної місії американського народу, готовність нового Президента сумлінно виконувати свої обов’язки. Спільні риси пояснюються традиційністю побудови інавгураційних промов, стабільністю американських цінностей, відносно схожими історичними обставинами. Відмінності у промовах двох лідерів США полягають у стилістичних та лексичних особливостях текстів. Різними є ті проблеми та виклики часу, які згадуються в інавгураційних промовах як актуальні та важливі. В промові Рузвельта акцент зроблено на зовнішніх викликах для американської демократії. В промова Байдена – на внутрішніх проблемах, в першу чергу, пов’язаних із внутрішнім тероризмом та пандемією. У промовах проявляються особливості історичних періодів, окремі особистісні характеристики політиків.

The article provides a historical and political analysis of the inaugural speeches of US Presidents Franklin Roosevelt in 1941 (the third speech) and Joseph Biden in 2021. It is noted that a political speech is a special type of speech that is specific. It is characterized by the following features: functional diversity, monologicity, focus on a mass audience, political themes. An inaugural speech is a type of political speech. It accompanies the ritual of the inauguration of the new President. This is an appeal to its citizens for the purpose of broadcasting important ideas. The article emphasizes that the inaugural speech accumulates the main features of the new President's political course and aims at the integration of society. A comparative analysis of the inaugural speeches of the 32nd and 46th Presidents of the USA was carried out according to such criteria as the structure of the speech, lexical and stylistic features, key words, the main idea, the range of problems and issues mentioned by the politician, and symbols. The article takes into account the historical conditions of both Presidents taking office. It is emphasized that they were announced during deep geopolitical crises. The common features of the speeches of F. Roosevelt and D. Biden were revealed. This is a declaration of democratic values as the highest, a call for the protection of democracy and freedom, for decisive actions, an emphasis on the important historical mission of the American people, and the readiness of the new President to faithfully fulfill his duties. The common features are explained by the traditional construction of inaugural speeches, the stability of American values, and relatively similar historical circumstances. The differences in the speeches of the two US leaders lie in the stylistic and lexical features of the texts. Different are the problems and challenges of the time, which are mentioned in the inaugural speeches as urgent and important. Roosevelt's speech emphasized external challenges for American democracy. Biden's speech focused on domestic issues, primarily related to domestic terrorism and the pandemic. Peculiarities of historical periods and individual personal characteristics of politicians are revealed in the speeches.
