Self sufficiency as an important aspect of life qualiтy of seniors

Abstract

Performance falls in old age and the onset of chronic diseases is developing а series of malfunctions and consequently there is impaired self-sufficiency and dependence. We selected in this worka sample of 386 probants, with two batteries of standardized questionnaires surveyed the relationship of self-sufficiency and quality of life of the seniors population. Based on statistical comparisons, using Mann · Whitney test we found poorer self-sufficiency (gross score in the ADL test = 11,65) in geriatric patients compared with residents in facilities for the elderly (gross score in the ADL test = 8,92). In our study confirmed а clear dependence on the level of self-sufficiency and quality of life of seniors (*** р < .001).

В роботі здійснено аналіз 386 стандартизованих анкет по дослідженню взамозв'язку самодостатності та якості життя в популяції літніх людей. На основі тесту Mann - Whitney меншу ступінь самодостатності виявлено у геріатричних пацієнтів в порівнянні з жителями будинків пристарілих.
