Лексичні інновації в сучасній англійській мові

Abstract

Стаття присвячена дослідженню особливостей лексичних інновацій у сучасній англійській мові. Бурхливий розвиток суспільства, використання новітніх комп’ютерних технологій, пандемія COVID-19, військові дії забезпечують постійне збагачення мови новими лексичними одиницями, що відображають зміни у суспільстві, технологіях, культурі та економіці. Лексичні інновації, до яких відносяться нові слова, словосполучення або зміни значення існуючих одиниць, є важливою складовою мовної еволюції. Тому й актуальним постає питання їх вивчення та способів перекладу українською мовою. У роботі розглядаються лексичні інновації як лексичні одиниці, надано їх пояснення та з’ясовано, що серед них переважають слова, які позначають поняття, що мають новий зміст та форму. Детально розглядаються стадії розвитку лексичних інновацій, оскільки вчені дискутують на предмет того, що слід вважати лексичною інновацією, а що – загальновживаною лексикою. Вивчаються різноманітні процеси, за допомогою яких нові слова, вирази та значення входять в активний обіг, а також методи їх адаптації в мовному середовищі. Крім того, досліджуються різні типи інновацій, зокрема неологізми, запозичення, калькування, морфологічні інновації та зміни в значеннях слів. У статті також здійснено аналіз механізмів, за допомогою яких лексичні інновації передаються іншими мовами, зокрема через переклад на українську, що дозволяє краще розуміти їхнє функціонування в міжкультурному контексті. Під час дослідження було з’ясовано, що при перекладі лексичних інновацій українською мовою виникають певні труднощі, які пов’язані з тим, що нові слова не встигають потрапити до словників, а контекст не завжди допомагає зрозуміти, про що йде мова в оригіналі. Тому важливо розуміти структуру лексичних інновацій та їх особливості. Акцент зроблено на важливості лексичних інновацій як відображенні змін у суспільстві та їхній ролі у формуванні нової мовної картини світу.

The article is devoted to the research of features of lexical innovations in modern English. The rapid development of society, the use of the latest computer technologies, the COVID-19 pandemic, military operations ensure the constant enrichment of the language with new lexical units reflecting changes in society, technology, culture and economy. Lexical innovations, which include new words, phrases or changes in the meaning of existing units, are an important part of linguistic evolution. Therefore, the question of studying lexical innovations and ways of translating them into Ukrainian becomes relevant. Lexical innovations as lexical units are considered in the work, their explanation is provided and it is found out that among them words prevail, which denote concepts that have a new meaning and form. The stages of development of lexical innovations are considered in detail, as scientists discuss what should be considered lexical innovation and what is common vocabulary. Various processes are studied by which new words, expressions and meanings enter into active circulation, as well as methods of their adaptation in the language environment. In addition, various types of innovations are investigated, in particular neologisms, borrowing, tracing, morphological innovations and changes in the meanings of words. The article also analyzes the mechanisms by which lexical innovations are transmitted to other languages, in particular through translation into Ukrainian, which allows better understanding of their functioning in the intercultural context. During the study, it was found that when translating lexical innovations into Ukrainian, certain difficulties arise that are associated with the fact that new words do not have time to get into dictionaries, and the context does not always help to understand what is said in the original. Therefore, it is important to understand the structure of lexical innovations and their features. The emphasis is on the importance of lexical innovations as a reflection of changes in society and their role in the formation of a new linguistic picture of the world.
