Поетичний цикл про Христа, який страждав, із підручника віршування Києво-Могилянської академії «Rosa inter spinas» (1696)

Abstract

У статті досліджено деякі особливості поетичних творів про Христа, який страждав, із курсу лекцій із віршування Києво-Могилянської академії «Rosa inter spinas» [Троянда між колючками] (1696). Тексти відчитано з рукописного оригіналу, введено в науковий обіг та перекладено. Встановлено, що 25 епіграм-дистихів творять поетичний цикл. Вірші мають такі заголовки: Христос продається за тридцять монет. Про нього ж. Іуда всередині тріснув. Течуть нутрощі. Із нутрощів вийшов диявол. Петро гріється біля вогню. Сонце затьмарюється. Сонце і Місяць затемнюються. Петро, гірко ридаючи, вийшов із двору. Христос нічого не відповів Іроду. Про нього ж. Одягають у біле. Прив’язують до стовпа. Христа бичують. Увінчують тернами. Про нього ж. Варавва ставиться нижче. Христос, який несе хрест. Зробили надпис: «Христос, іудейський цар». Поять жовчю й оцтом. Помирає, похиливши голову. Про нього ж. Скелі трясуться. Пробивають бік списом. Гробниця відкрита. Цикл розповідає про Страсті Христові, хоч його початок і кінець відмінні від загальноприйнятих. Тематично акцентується євангельська історія зради Іуди та його розплати за злочин (про це йдеться в п’яти епіграмах). Встановлено, що поетичний цикл про страждання Христа належить перу невідомого нам автора київської поетики. У п’ятнадцятій та частково шістнадцятій епіграмі пояснюється, що Троянда – це Ісус, а колючки – це влучні вислови, дотепи, консепти. Проаналізовано основні мотиви та жанрові особливості епіграм, зазначено деякі спільні місця латинської релігійної літератури. Вказано на можливі інтертекстуальні зв’язки з популярним в тогочасній Україні трактатом отця-єзуїта Якоба Мазена «Ars nova argutiarum». Цикл віршів про страждання Христа з трактату «Rosa inter spinas» (1696) – літературна пам’ятка, яка розширює горизонти давньої української поезії.

The article explores the features of poems about the suffering of Christ from the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy poetry course Rosa inter spinas (Rose Among Thorns) (1696). These texts from the manuscripts have been introduced into academic circulation and translated. The analysis reveals that the 25 epigrammatic distichs form a cohesive poetic cycle. The verses bear the following headings: Christ is sold for thirty pieces of silver. About Him. Judas bursts apart with a bang. Guts are flowing. The Devil emerges from his entrails. Peter warms himself by the fire. The sun hides. The sun and the moon are darkened. Peter leaves the hall, weeping bitterly. Christ does not answer Herod. About Him. Dressed in white. Tied to a post. Scourged. Crowned with a crown of thorns. About Him. Barabbas is placed below. Christ carries the cross. Inscribed: “Jesus, the King of the Jews.” Drinks bile with vinegar. Bows His head and dies. About Him. The rocks are shaking. His side is pierced with a spear. The tomb is opened. The cycle recounts the Passion of Christ, though the sequence of sufferings differs from the traditional narrative. Thematically, the evangelical story of Judas' betrayal and his retribution for the crime is emphasized (this is discussed in five epigrams). The poetic cycle on Christ’s suffering is attributed to an anonymous author of Kyiv poetics. In the fifteenth and part of the sixteenth epigram, the Rose is explained as a symbol of Jesus, while the thorns represent witty expressions, concepts. The article analyzes the primary motifs and genre characteristics of the epigrams, highlighting connections to Latin religious literature. Possible intertextual connections with the popular treatise of Jesuit Father Jacob Mazen Ars nova argutiarum are indicated. The cycle of poems about the suffering of Christ from the treatise Rosa inter spinas (1696) is a literary monument that expands the horizons of old Ukrainian poetry.
