Символіка дендролексем у текстах українського фольклору

Abstract

У статті вивчено символіку дендролексем у текстах українського фольклору. Дослідження проводилося на матеріалі текстів українських народних замовлянь. Визначено експресивно-емоційні значення та конотації дендролексем у досліджуваних текстах. Охарактеризовано основні маркери, які визначають дендролексеми у контексті. Виділено узагальнені поняття, які об’єднують між собою слова-символи («здоров’я», «сила», «краса», «міць» та ін.). Виокремлено порівняння, епітети, прикладки, складниками яких є досліджувані символи. Визначено прикметники, які підсилюють образність іменника (зелений дуб, чорний дуб, темний дуб, суха груша, золота груша), а також ті, які мають символічне значення (дубові гаї – символи житла богів). Досліджено досить незвичні епітети: дуб столоватий, головатий, красний, прекрасний, бардзо хороший. Зазначено, що відповідно до того, якими характеристиками наділяла людина світ природи, такі якості мала й сама, ними оперувала і тим визначався її світогляд, картина світу нації. Зауважено, що світовим деревом українців у текстах народних замовлянь виступають дуб, верба, явір, калина, липа та ін. Досліджено, що дуб, горіх символізують щось монолітне, сильне, що простежується у порівняльних конструкціях: щоб так зуб, як дуб; рости здоровий та кріпкий, як дуб; був здоровий, як горіх. У текстах українських замовлянь калина – символ дівочої чистоти й краси, єдності нації; береза – символ дівчини, жінки; тополя – символ рідної землі; клен (кленовий листочок) символізує порядок, постійність; груша символізує дівоцтво; осина символізує захист. Тексти українського фольклору несуть генетичну пам’ять поколінь, є носієм інформації про історію, культуру, моральні норми та цінності нації, відображені в символічних значеннях. Такі тексти є джерелами, що допомагають реконструювати етапи розвитку мови в той чи той часовий період, дослідити становлення певних мовних явищ.

The article studies the symbolism of dendrolexemes in the texts of Ukrainian folklore. The study was conducted on the basis of the texts of Ukrainian folk spells. The expressive and emotional meanings and connotations of dendrolexemes in the studied texts are determined. The main markers that define dendrolexemes in the context are characterised. In the article we highlighted the generalised concepts that unite the word-symbols (‘health’, ‘strength’, ‘beauty’, ‘power’, etc.). Comparisons, epithets, and examples, which include the studied symbols, are singled out. The adjectives that enhance the imagery of the noun (green oak, black oak, dark oak, dry pear, golden pear), as well as those that have a symbolic meaning (oak groves are symbols of the dwelling of the gods) are identified. Quite unusual epithets are studied: table oak, headed oak, red oak, beautiful oak, very good oak. We mentioned that, according to the characteristics which a person endowed the natural world with, he or she had such qualities, operated with them, and this determined his or her worldview and the nation's world picture. It is noted that the world tree of Ukrainians in the texts of folklore is oak, willow, sycamore, viburnum, linden, etc. Also, we defined that oak and walnut symbolise something monolithic, strong, which can be traced in comparative constructions: tooth like an oak; to grow healthy and strong like an oak; to be healthy like a walnut. In the texts of Ukrainian spells, the viburnum is a symbol of maiden purity and beauty, the unity of the nation; the birch is a symbol of a girl, a woman; the poplar is a symbol of the native land; the maple (maple leaf) symbolises order, constancy; the pear symbolises maidenhood; the hornet symbolises protection. The texts of Ukrainian folklore carry the genetic memory of generations, and are a carrier of information about the history, culture, moral norms and values of the nation, reflected in symbolic meanings. Such texts are sources that help to reconstruct the stages of language development in a particular time period and to study the formation of certain linguistic phenomena.
