Концептуальні підходи до вивчення ролі гумору в політичній науці

Abstract

У статті досліджуються основні концептуальні підходи до вивчення ролі гумору в політичній науці та його функції в політичному процесі. Авторка систематизує існуючі теоретичні напрацювання та виділяє чотири ключові підходи до розуміння ролі політичного гумору. В межах комунікативного підходу гумор розглядається як інструмент політичної комунікації, що виконує функції визначення політичних концепцій, роззброєння критиків, вираження опозиції, сприяння громадянській підтримці та підвищення доступності політичних повідомлень. Соціокультурний підхід акцентує увагу на ролі гумору як елементу соціальної та культурної динаміки суспільства, де він виступає індикатором демократичності, механізмом соціальної критики, інструментом формування національної ідентичності та засобом подолання соціокультурної травми. Функціональний підхід досліджує практичне значення гумору в політичному процесі, зокрема його роль як інструменту політичної участі та ненасильницького опору в авторитарних режимах. Критичний підхід застерігає від надмірної романтизації ролі гумору та вказує на можливості його використання для консервації існуючого статус-кво та дегуманізації опонентів. У статті також аналізується дискусія щодо ефективності гумору як інструменту політичних змін та його роль у процесах політичної мобілізації. Особлива увага приділяється трансформації політичного гумору в умовах діджиталізації, де він набуває нових форм через меми, сатиричні пости та жартівливі коментарі в Інтернеті. Авторка розглядає це явище в контексті теорії слактивізму та концепції «гумористичної форми участі в політичному житті». На основі проведеного аналізу робиться висновок про комплексний характер впливу гумору на політичні процеси та необхідність подальшого дослідження його ролі в контексті гібридних війн, інформаційних конфліктів та процесів демократизації суспільства.

The article examines the main conceptual approaches to the study of the role of humor in political science and its function in the political process. The author systematizes existing theoretical developments and identifies four key approaches to understanding political humor. The communicative approach sees humor as a political communication tool that defines political concepts, disarms critics, expresses opposition, promotes public support, and increases the accessibility of political messages. The socio-cultural approach emphasizes the role of humor as an element of social and cultural dynamics of society, where it acts as an indicator of democracy, a mechanism of social criticism, a tool for shaping national identity, and a means of overcoming socio-cultural trauma. The functional approach explores the practical significance of humor in the political process, particularly its role as a tool for political participation and non-violent resistance in authoritarian regimes. The critical approach warns against over-romanticizing the role of humor and points to the possibilities of using it to preserve the status quo and dehumanize opponents. The article also analyzes the debate on the effectiveness of humor as a tool for political change and its role in political mobilization. Particular attention is paid to the transformation of political humor in the context of digitalization, where it takes on new forms through memes, satirical posts, and humorous comments on the Internet. The author examines this phenomenon in the context of the theory of slacktivism and the concept of a “humorous form of participation in political life.” Based on the analysis, the author concludes that humor has a complex impact on political processes and that further research on its role in hybrid wars, information conflicts, and democratization processes is needed.
