Changes in thе country's legal system as а condition for joining thе EU: thе experience of Ukraine

Abstract

The article analyzes the main factors that influenced the formation of the Iegal system of Ukraine. The concept of "legal system" is studied, the scientist's opinion оп the definition of the concept of Iegal system is also indicated. In 2014, Ukraine signed the Association Agreement with the EU. The agreement significantly expanded the spheres of Ukraine's cooperation with the EU and provided for various ways of harmonizing its legislation with EU legislation. The work emphasizes that the legal system of Ukraine gravitates towards Romano-Germanic Iaw. The legal basis of Ukraine's direction towards European integration is analyzed, і.е. the acts are defined, оп the basis of which Ukraine recognizes its direction towards the European Union, to the main principles and sources of law. The relevance of mу researched material is also determined bу the fact that today, especially in the conditions of martial Iaw, the issue of Ukraine's accession to the European Union is extremely important. This direction has been implemented for several years, the acts that are the basis of the neighboring legislation have been ratified. At present, Ukraine has already completed one of the most important stages for the further realization of the set goal, namely, it has acquired the status of а candidate for membership in the European Union.
