Василь Німчук про ґенезу та синтаксичні функції прийменників в історії української мови

Abstract

Стаття присвячена поглядам відомого мовознавця В.В. Німчука на походження й синтаксичні функції прийменників в історії української мови. Важливість цієї теми зумовлюється системністю, актуалізованою в нормах сучасної української мови. П.Ю. Гриценко на Міжнародній конференції, присвяченій 90-ій річниці з дня народження В.В. Німчука (Ужгород, жовтень 2023 року), у своїй доповіді «Двоприйменниковість і двопрефіксність як локальна риса в українському континуумі» зауважив стосовно прийменникової системи української мови, що тут немає народної стихії, а є чітка система, відбита саме в мовних нормах української мови. Погляди В.В. Німчука на ґенезу й синтаксичні функції прийменників в історії української мови оформлені у двох академічних працях – «Історія української мови: Морфологія» (Київ: Наукова думка, 1978) та «Історія української мови: Синтаксис» (Київ: Наукова думка, 1983). Важливі висновки вченого мають значення для складних питань морфології, синтаксису, морфемології і дериватології української мови. В.В. Німчук окреслив межі часового виникнення прийменників, спираючись на праці відомих європейських мовознавців, виділив первинні прийменники праслов’янського періоду, а також похідні прийменники різного походження, описав прийменники давньоруської мови та їх розвиток в староукраїнській та новій українській літературній мові, проаналізував уживання прийменників з певними відмінками, чітко визначив семи прийменникових сполук та їх продуктивність, пояснив причини мультиплікації прийменників в історії української мови. При цьому вчений як видатний знавець і практик едиції спирається на вагомий історичний матеріал від найдавніших часів. Відзначимо важливість висновків В.В. Німчука щодо деривації семантики прийменникових конструкцій – від локально- просторових, часових та об’єктних значень до обставинних значень міри, способу дії, мети, причини тощо. Можна стверджувати, що у період формування й становлення теорії деривації в українському мовознавстві на основі вчення Є. Куриловича вони спричинили інтерес до вивчення вторинних мовних знаків на всіх мовних рівнях.

The article is devoted to the views of the famous linguist V.V. Nimchuk on the origin and syntactic functions of prepositions in the history of the Ukrainian language. The importance of this topic is determined by the systematic nature of the norms of the modern Ukrainian language. At the International Conference dedicated to the 90th anniversary of V.V. Nimchuk’s birth (Uzhhorod, October 2023), P.Yu. Hrytsenko, in his report «Two-preposition and two-prefixity as a local feature in the Ukrainian continuum», noted in relation to the prepositional system of the Ukrainian language that there is no folk element, but a clear system reflected in the linguistic norms of the Ukrainian language. V.V. Nimchuk’s views on the genesis and syntactic functions of prepositions in the history of the Ukrainian language are formalized in two academic works – «History of the Ukrainian Language: Morphology» (Kyiv: Naukova Dumka, 1978) and «History of the Ukrainian Language: Syntax» (Kyiv: Naukova Dumka, 1983). The important conclusions of the scientist are important for the complex issues of morphology, syntax, morphemology and derivatology of the Ukrainian language. V.V. Nimchuk outlined the boundaries of the temporal origin of prepositions, relying on the works of famous European linguists, identified the primary prepositions of the Proto- Slavic period, as well as derivative prepositions of various origins, described the prepositions of the Old Russian language and their development in the Old Ukrainian and New Ukrainian literary language, analyzed the use of prepositions with certain cases, clearly defined seven prepositional compounds and their productivity, and explained the reasons for the multiplication of prepositions in the history of the Ukrainian language. At the same time, the scientist, as an outstanding expert and practitioner of unification, relies on significant historical material from ancient times. We note the importance of V.V. Nimchuk’s conclusions regarding the derivation of the semantics of prepositional constructions – from local-spatial, temporal and object meanings to the circumstantial meanings of measure, mode of action, purpose, reason, etc. It can be argued that in the period of formation and development of the theory of derivation in Ukrainian linguistics, based on the teachings of E. Kurylovych, they caused interest in the study of secondary language signs at all language levels.
