Деякі аспекти політики уряду Канадської Конфедерації щодо корінного населення після 1867 р.

Abstract

In the author’s article federal Canadian Confederation government’s policy is analyzed in relation to a Native population after 1867. An author probes the consequences of signing of seven first treaties between the Aboriginal people and Canadian government and their influence on the subsequent future of Canada. We study also, by what governmental officials succeeded to convince Aboriginal population to sign the treaties. The author of the article finds out, how on the Native children influenced their presence at the boarding-schools and whether there was a policy of federal government directed on eventual assimilation of native population of Canada.
