Abstract

Growth of political and economic influence of Greece on Balkan and in East Mediterranean in a great deal determined its membership in European Union and NATO, by the special character of its relationships with the states of Western Europe and USA. At the same time restrained, almost neutral position in the relation of events on Near east and on Balkan allowed Greece it is enough effectively to realize the national interests, playing on contradictions the USA and ES, ES and NATO, NATO and UNO and constructing a foreign policy within the framework of basic geopolitical triangles: Greece – USA – Turkey and Greece is ES – Turkey. In the total Greece was able distance from all of large conflicts and obtain serious successes in realization of the foreign-policy line, and due to membership in ES and NATO scored geopolitical advantages, that on the protracted period will allow it to keep political and economic leadership in a region. Evolving parallels with strategy of NATO, defensive conception of Greece does not eliminate the Turkish threat, the basic source of danger for it was become by international Arabic terrorist organizations which are based on Near east.
