INTERNATIONAL DIMENSION OF LOCAL POLICY MAKING: ADVANTAGES, LIMITS AND CHALLENGES OF CROSSBORDER COOPERATION AT THE LOCAL LEVEL

Abstract

The paper covers analysis of the term ”bordering region”. Special feautures of such regions, obstacles and priorities of their development are analysed too. Special attention is granted to cross-border cooperation as a local and basic level of intergation of the country into a global economy and international society. The characteristics of euroregions as the most effective form of cross-border cooperation are given as well as statistics on involvement of the Ukrainian regions in cross-border relations.
