Issues and challenges of small hydropower development in the Carpathians region (hydrology, hydrochemistry, and hydrobiology of watercourses)

Abstract

This monograph is devoted to the quesƟon of development of small-hydroenergy on small rivers in condiƟons of the Carpathians region, and Transcarpathians with Outer -Carpathians regions. The authors have pay aƩenƟon both posiƟves and negaƟves in implementaƟon of modern principles of building of small– mini, and microhydropower plants. Except of the data on hydrology, hydrochemistry and basic legislaƟve approaches it is shown large material on fauna, flora and funcƟonality of aquaƟc ecosystems. It is consecrated for hydrobiologists, zoologists, algologists and everybody who is interested in acceleraƟon of building renewable hydroenergy sources faciliƟes with a minimum impact against surroundings.
