Abstract: | Тhе results of treatment of patients operated for perforated gastric ulcer were reviewed. Stitching of the ulcer was the most ineffective intervention (relapse of the ulcer occurred in 48,7%). Тhе best results were after radical operations like economical gastric resection and vagotomy (relapse equal to 0,8%). Surgical intervention eradicating the morphological substrate of the ulcer with addition of antiulcer therapy gave relapse in 3,5%. Complex investigation of patients with perforated gastric ulcer allows for the identification of the main pathogeneticc routes of the disease, optimize the choice of surgical tac tics and consequent treatment |
