They make up 0.4 - 0.5% of all fractures of the bones of the skeleton. A significant number of the injured are young people. 20-40% of closed injuries of the spine are complicated by damage to the spinal cord of varying degrees of severity. A significant percentage of those dissatisfied with the result of treatment remains. Disability with complicated spinal injuries is 95%. Mortality in this group of patients is up to 30%. Establishing a diagnosis is crucial for the correct treatment of patients with spinal injuries. |
