Primary schools in the british system of education

Abstract

This article deals with the questions of educational work with children in the primary schools. British experience is discussed. Based on the analysis of the scientific literature, it is established that there are 5 stages in the educational system of Great Britain: preschool / pre-primary education, primary education, secondary education, further education, higher education. In Great Britain state and private schools exist, as well as alternative and boarding schools. Primary schools are considered as very important part of the educational system of Great Britain. The main peculiarities of the educational work with the children of primary schools are analyzed.

В статті розглядаються питання навчально-виховної роботи з дітьми у початковій школі на основі британського досвіду. В результаті аналізу наукової літератури виявлено 5 ступенів в системі освіти Ве- ликої Британії (дошкільна, початкова, середня, професійна, вища). У Великій Британії існують державні і приватні школи, школи-пансіонати, альтернативні школи. Початкова ланка розглядається як одна з важ- ливих складових британської системи освіти. Аналізуються основні особливості організації навчально- виховного процесу в початковій школі Великої Британії.
