Трансгресія в українській новелі кінця ХХ – початку ХХІ століть

Abstract

Transgression is one of the vectors of human being in the Ukrainian short story of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Postmodernists consider transgression as a manifestation of provocative artistic practices of the 20th century, an experience of denial, overcoming various prohibitions. The article explores transgression as the subject's desire to go beyond established, sometimes oppressive, rules or circumstances in order to understand the meaning of human existence. Therefore, the interpretation of the "transcendental-metaphysical horizon of being" as "an essential, a primary openness of the human spirit to being" (Emerich Coreth) is consistent with the concept of a "transgressive step" that "penetrates the world, completing itself in the afterlife” (Maurice Blanchot). The aim of the article is to trace transgression in the Ukrainian short story of the late 20th and early 21st centuries in the context of metaphysical discourse; explore how transgressive strategies work in the short story genre. The object of the research is the short stories of Yuriy Andruhovich, Vasyl Gabor, Oksana Zabuzhko, Volodymyr Nazarenko.
